Truthfulness, media literacy and reconciliation in the new General Law of Audiovisual Communication: self-regulation as a tool at the service of the general principles of audiovisual communication - Elena Juaristi-Besalduch

La reciente aprobación de la Ley 13/2022, de 7 de julio, General de Comunicación Audiovisual pretende dar respuesta a un conjunto desafíos que presenta el ecosistema mediático para nuestra sociedad, valores y democracia. Este artículo tienen por objeto analizar los principios generales de veracidad de la información, alfabetización mediática y conciliación de la vida personal y familiar proclamados y regulados en dicha norma, así como analizar el modo en que esos principios generales son impulsados a través de instrumentos y mecanismos autorregulatorios.

I. INTRODUCCIÓN. NUEVO ECOSISTEMA MEDIÁTICO Y NECESIDAD DE UN MARCO NORMATIVO ADAPTADO II. LA VERACIDAD, ALFABETIZACIÓN Y CONCILIACIÓN COMO PRINCIPIOS INSPIRADORES DE LA LGCA Y LA NECESIDAD DE GARANTIZARLOS HORIZONTALMENTE: LA AUTORREGULACIÓN COMO RESPUESTA 1. Protección horizontal de los principios de veracidad de la información, alfabetización mediática y conciliación de la vida personal y familiar 2. We are facing a complex media ecosystem that presents numerous challenges for our society, values and democracy. In order to organize and regulate the challenges it presents, the Ley 13/2022, de 7 de julio, General de Comunicación Audiovisual has recently been approved. The purpose of this article is to analyze the general principles of truthfulness of information, media literacy and reconciliation of personal and family life included in this law, and also to study how they are promoted through self-regulatory instruments and mechanisms.
