Este comentario de legislación tiene el objetivo de analizar el Reglamento (UE) 2020/1783 sobre obtención de prueba en materia civil y mercantil, contextualizando el mismo en el marco de la evolución histórica de la cooperación judicial en el continente europeo, su nueva configuración desde la óptica de la política de la Unión Europea y su relevancia respecto a la regulación anterior, con especial mención de sus principales novedades.

This paper aims to analyse the Regulation (UE) 2020/1783 on the taking of evidence in civil or commercial matters, through its contextualization within the historical evolution of judicial cooperation in the European continent, its new configuration through European Union policy and its relevance when compared with the previous regulation, with special focus in its main new contributions.
