La memoria de José Manuel Pérez-Prendes nos lleva a recuperar la figura de un predecesor suyo en la docencia universitaria del Derecho: el Catedrático de Derecho Penal José María Valdés Rubio. A través de una breve reseña biográfica y un sucinto análisis de algunas de sus obras nos acercamos al papel de la Universidad Central en los estudios de Derecho a finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX; así como recuperamos una parte de la Historia del Derecho en España.

Jose Manuel Perez-Prendes's memory leads us to recovering the figure of his predecessor in the university teaching of the Law: the Professor of Criminal law Jose Maria Valdés Rubio. Across a short biographical review and a succinct analysis of some of his works we approach the paper of the Central University in the studies of Law at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the XXth; as well as we recover a part of the History of the Law in Spain.
