El Centro de Arbitraje y Mediación de la OMPI se ha convertido en la entidad más emblemática en el campo de la resolución alternativa de conflictos internacionales relativos a la propiedad intelectual. En el presente artículo se analiza la conveniencia de las formulas alternativas de solución de controversias en el ámbito de la propiedad intelectual. Se estudian con detenimiento los rasgos diferenciadores y los distintos procedimientos de ADR que administra el Centro, tales como la mediación, el arbitraje, el arbitraje acelerado y el procedimiento de resolución de conflictos de nombres de domino. El estudio concluye con las últimas tendencias llevadas a cabo por esta institución.

The article discuss the principal features and the different types of procedures administered by the Center, such as arbitration, expedited arbitration, mediation and domain name dispute resolution. The study concludes with the last tendencies leaded by this Institution.
