The study of history from the Colombian State-Church relations’ perspective is an exercise of evaluation that involves some reading choices, from the the State’s as well as from the Church’s perspective. First of all, it is necessary to make a brief balance of those relations, hoping that readers will understand and will also criticize their achievements and gaps, readings and silences of data provided by history. Nevertheless, this reading must not end with a simple outline of historical landmarks but must includea proposal of the possible challenges that State-Church relations must face.
