Se expone aquí un resumen amplio del trabajo del profesor Stolleis acerca de las relaciones entre el Derecho y la Iconografía Jurídica, centrado sobre todo en la representación del ojo, primero de Dios, luego del Príncipe y finalmente de la Ley, como poderosa metáfora que significa la capacidad omnisciente y omnipotente de los sujetos enumerados.

This review offers a wide summary of professor Stolleis’ work about the relations between Law and Legal Iconography, which specially focuses on the representation of the eye, God’s eye, in the first place, then the Prince’s and finally the eye of the Law, as a powerful metaphor which conveys the enumerated characters’ omniscient and omnipotent capacity.
