(RI §417699)
The repudiation of Salome example of social " validity " of Roman law in the Herodian court - Alejo Manuel Diz Franco
The purpose of this article is to analyse the detailed view that Flavius Josephus gives of the Roman Domination and of Herod "The Great" and his relatives. We know along the narration of one of the episodes, how Salome, Herod´s sister, delivered a repudiation document to her husband in order to disolve their marriage. In our own judgement, Salome was appealing a right that she had according with the Roman Law but against the Jewish Law. This remarkable and extraordinary fact is the object of our analysis.
