The doctrine of the Church on equality in the 19th century. Historiographic context and analysis of the doctoral thesis of Federico Rodríguez y Rodríguez - Javier López de Goicoechea Zabala

Este estudio introductorio pretende presentar la edición digital de la Tesis Doctoral de Federico Rodríguez y Rodríguez, inédita hasta ahora, defendida en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid en 1947. Para este fin, desarrollamos una breve biografía del autor, seguida por el contexto doctrinal e historiográfico de la denominada Doctrina Social de la Iglesia, para poder comprender el alcance de dicho trabajo doctoral y la contribución a su acervo, dado que centra su estudio en la doctrina pontificia del siglo XIX. Culminamos con un análisis del texto, su estructura, contenido y fuentes, para iluminar la importancia de la obra, sus conclusiones y la aportación real al estudio de la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia.

This introductory study aims to present the digital edition of the Doctoral Thesis of Federico Rodríguez y Rodríguez, until now unpublished, defended at the Complutense University of Madrid in 1947. To this end, we make a brief biography of the author, followed by the doctrinal and historiographical context of the so-called Social Doctrine of the Church, in order to understand the scope of this doctoral work to his collection, since he focuses his study on the pontifical doctrine of the nineteenth century. We conclude with an analysis of the text, its structure, content and sources, to illuminate the importance of the work, its conclusions and the real contribution to the study of the Social Doctrine of the Church.
