Life and death of feral horses: Predation by wolves and horses' recognition of death. (RI §421782)
There is a prey-predator relationship between horses and wolves in the ecosystem of Serra d’Arga in Portugal. In this paper, we will consider the perception of horses for injury and death of other individuals, which has been clarified by observing this prey-predator relationship. Increasing the knowledge and comparing them with available data and observations of other animal species, will lead us to understand the evolutionary basis of animals' cognitive abilities and sociality.
