Andres Bello: the man, the erudite, the jurist - Rafael Bernad Mainar

Se presenta una nueva perspectiva de la aportación de Andrés Bello al mundo del Derecho bajo dos parámetros bien definidos: por un lado, estableciendo la relación de su obra jurídica con su propia vida personal y el contexto histórico que le tocó vivir; y, por otro, enlazando su obra jurídica, hija de su tiempo, con problemas de la actualidad más palpitante, pues entendemos que uno de los retos más importantes ante el que se enfrenta el legado inmanente de Andrés Bello es la conexión de su pensamiento jurídico con la realidad de nuestros días. Sin duda, por su través, podemos afirmar que estamos en presencia de un adelantado de su tiempo, un visionario, constructor de un futuro basado en el orden, cual arquitecto que pergeña el proyecto de las naciones americanas, sin con ello cegarse, como lo hizo la mayoría de sus contemporáneos, en urgencias, apetitos y ambiciones. Su altura de miras lo elevará al Olimpo de los elegidos por la historia.

A new perspective on the contribution of Andres Bello the legal world under two well-defined parameters are presented: first, establishing the relationship of their legal work with his own personal life and the historical context in which he lived; and secondly, linking their legal work, child of its time, with problems today more throbbing, because we understand that one of the most important challenges to which the immanent legacy of Andres Bello faces is the connection of its legal thinking with the reality of today. No doubt, through it, we can say that we have here ahead of his time, a visionary, builder based in the order, which architect devise the project of the American nations, without thereby blinded, future as he did most of his contemporaries, in emergencies, appetites and ambitions. Its high-mindedness will elevate the Olympus of the chosen by history.
