El uso de rituales vudú es una de las características de las redes de trata africanas. Poco se sabe, sin embargo, sobre este tipo de rituales y su verdadero impacto sobre las victimas de explotación sexual. Por ello, este artículo presenta una serie de elementos para comprender el vínculo entre los ritos vudú y la trata de mujeres, ofreciendo al mismo tiempo unas orientaciones sobre el tratamiento judicial que ha de ser dado a este tipo de coacciones.

Voodoo rituals are one of the characteristic of African sex trafficking networks. However, there is not much information about these rites and their real impact on sexual exploitation victims. This working paper gives some key elements to understand the link between voodoo rituals and human trafficking. Besides, it offers some clues to the type of judicial treatment that this form of coercion should receive.
