El reproche jurídico del juego en Roma, colisionaba con el derecho del individuo a jugar y distraerse, como una manera de recreación que a veces se alejaba de esa finalidad provocando la dilapidación de patrimonio, es decir, a consecuencia del vicio que este generaba y que en la mayor parte de los casos implicaba la ruina económica. En nuestro estudio vamos a analizar la prohibición jurídica haciendo hincapié en las normas contenidas en C.3.43.1 y 2 , C.1.4.25, C.3.43.1.4 que hablan de la colaboración entre el poder religioso y laico en la lucha contra el juego de azar y sus consecuencias.
