El propósito de este trabajo es precisar qué creía estar publicando Johann Sichardt cuando llevó a cabo la editio princeps de la Lex Romana Visigothorum. La afirmación, frecuente en la doctrina, de que el humanista creía estar editando el Código Teodosiano si bien es matizable no constituye un craso error como se ha afirmado recientemente en una monografía.
The purpose of this paper is to clarify what Johann Sichardt considered he was publishing when carring out the editio princeps of the Lex Romana Visigothorum. The opinion, widely assumed by scholarship, that this author considered that he was conducting an edition of the C Th. is not exactly a crass mistake, as a recent study states.
