Gender violence at work. Social Security perspective - Carmen Sánchez Trigueros

La violencia de género en el trabajo se manifiesta en dos formas diferentes: el acoso sexual y el acoso por razón de género, éste último constituye un fenómeno cuya existencia se reconoce recientemente y está menos estudiado como conducta discriminatoria y manifestación de la violencia de género en el trabajo. Todo lo hasta aquí expuesto tiene en alguna medida repercusión en el ámbito más concreto de la Seguridad Social, que es la perspectiva del presente estudio, y ello debido al tratamiento doctrinal y judicial que el acoso laboral (en cualquiera de sus modalidades específicas) viene teniendo al poder ser calificada la contingencia como accidente de trabajo.

Gender violence at work takes place in two different ways: sexual harassment and harassment based on gender. The latter is a phenomenon which has recently been recognized as such, and thus it has barely been studied as a discriminatory behaviour or as a manifestation of gender violence at work. Everything that has been said up to this point affects the Social Security sphere, on which the present study is focused. The reason why the Social Security sphere is the main focus of the study is due to the doctrinal and judicial treatments that harassment at work (in any of its specific forms) has had since a contingency can be classified as an accident at work.
