Il contributo espone alcune analogie tra la definizione tipicamente romana del rapporto tra libertas e leges e la riflessione aristotelica sulla sovranità dei nómoi, concentrate ambedue (specie nel rapporto tra Liv. Ab urbe cond. 2.1.1 e Aristot. Pol. 1287a, 1292a) nella subordinazione delle magistrature cittadine (imperia hominum da una parte e archái dall’altra) alla legge.
The essay illustrates some analogies between the typical Roman definition of the relationship libertas leges and the Greek (especially Aristotelian) idea of the sovereignty of nómoi, both of them focused on the subjection to law of the magistrates (imperia hominum on the one side and archái on the other), clearly evidenced by the comparison of Liv. ab Urbe cond. 2.1.1 and Aristot. Pol. 1287a, 1292a.
