Las disposiciones legales establecidas en torno a los edificios teatrales serán importantes en la medida en que permiten interpretar algunas peculiaridades de la estructura social de la época. La Lex Iulia de Theatralis es un reflejo de la renovación social llevada a cabo por Augusto. Cada elemento estructural que forma parte del teatro tendrá una función preconcebida y determinada. En el presente artículo se analiza en particular el valor del teatro como elemento político más allá de mero lugar de diversión y celebración de espectáculos. El estudio se centra en el Teatro Romano de Cartagena.
The legal provisions regarding to the theaters will be important as they allow us to interpret some peculiarities of the social structure of that period.The Lex Iulia of Theatralis is a reflection of the social renewal carried out by Augusto. Each structural element part of the theater will have a preconceived and definite function. This article analyzes the value of the theater as social and political element beyond the mere place of fun and shows celebrations.The study focuses on the Roman Theater of Cartagena.
