El tema de la integración social de los inmigrantes es de creciente importancia en una sociedad como la actual, caracterizada por un aumento en los flujos de los nacionales de terceros países en el viejo continente. La inmigración es un proceso en el flujo, y no un fenómeno temporal y, al mismo tiempo, es una exigencia de los derechos económicos para los países que acogen. Como tal, por lo tanto, requiere una política común a largo plazo. A partir de un análisis semántico del concepto de la integración social, el estudio examina la evolución del derecho comunitario en este sentido, y las perspectivas futuras.

The immigrants social integration is a very important topic in a society like today’s, marked by an increase in flows of nationals of third countries in the old continent. Immigration is a process in flux, not a temporary phenomenon and, at the same time, it is a requirement of economic for countries that host. As such, therefore, requires a common policy for the long term. Starting with a semantic analysis of the concept of social integration, the survey examines the evolution of the European law in this regard, and future prospects.
